Writer and professor Arthur Brooks joined Morning Joe Feb. 15 to discuss lessons from his new book “From Strength to Strength: Finding Success, Happiness, and Deep Purpose in the Second Half of Your Life.”
Arthur said people need to move from the “innovator” mindset to the “instructor” mindset in their second half.
Another change people over 50 need to do is to beat the success addiction and the desire to want more.
“One of the key habits the happiest people have when they get older is they stop adding and start subtracting,” said Arthur. “They take away the extraneous attractions, possessions and relationships to find the real beautiful peace of art that is within them.”
