Today, I’m excited to introduce you to Julia Park Tracey. She is a journalist, poet, novelist, homesteader and beekeeper whose life truly took off after 50.
From founding a newspaper and mentoring emerging writers to co-founding a publishing house that champions women over 50, Julia’s story is proof that it’s never too late to embrace your creativity and make a difference.

From the moment her teenage daughter declared her mother’s life was “over” at 36, Julia has been on a mission to prove otherwise — and she’s done it in spectacular fashion.
After raising her children, Julia reignited her writing career, published multiple novels, including historical fiction and spicy romance. She also co-founded Sibylline Press, a publishing house devoted to elevating the voices of women over 50.
Julia’s passion doesn’t stop at the page. She’s also a dedicated urban homesteader and beekeeper, growing her own food, living with minimal waste, and doing her part to care for the planet.
Whether she’s harvesting honey, canning vegetables, or teaching others how to live more intentionally, Julia shows us what it means to live a purpose-driven life in the second half.
Her story is a beautiful reminder that creativity doesn’t expire, and wisdom only grows with age.
