Today, I’m interviewing Tim Christophersen. He is an environmental leader, author of the book “Generation Restoration,” and the vice president of climate action at Salesforce.
He helps governments, corporations and communities rediscover their relationship with nature.
Tim shares how growing up in rural Germany, living on a regenerative farm in Denmark, and working with global conservation efforts shape his mission today.
Here are three key takeaways from our conversation:
• First, the relationship between humans and nature is broken, but it can be restored through ecological literacy and small, consistent actions.
• Second, nature is not “out there” somewhere. It is part of us, intertwined with our health, well-being and survival.
• Finally, regeneration is possible at every level, from planting a single tree to restoring entire ecosystems, and ordinary people can make a measurable impact.
Tim finds tremendous meaning and purpose after turning 50 by helping people reconnect with nature and recognize their role as ecosystem engineers who can heal the planet rather than harm it.
Whether he is managing global climate initiatives or restoring his farm in Denmark through regenerative grazing and agroforestry, Tim is motivated by the belief that humans and nature can thrive together.
He said that even the smallest actions, like understanding where our food and water come from or planting a tree, can create hope and fuel a larger movement toward restoration.
