Today’s guest is Colin Yearwood, a dynamic sales coach and entrepreneur who discovered newfound clarity and direction after turning 50.
Colin had been involved in entrepreneurial ventures since his youth by selling everything from snow shoveling services in Brooklyn to Beanie Babies on eBay. However, his real transformation came later in life when he began embracing sales as a way to empower people rather than pressure them.
Here are my three key takeaways from our conversation:
First, sales is service, not sleaze. Colin overcame his own distaste for sales when he realized that authentic selling is simply helping people make decisions that serve their best interests. It’s not about pushing products. Rather, it’s about guiding people toward transformation.
Second, being yourself is your biggest sales asset. Colin developed a training approach he calls “How to Sell by Being Yourself,” which encourages people to show up authentically, ditch the rigid sales scripts and communicate in ways that align with their core values and personality.
Finally, personal limiting beliefs are often the biggest obstacle to success. Whether you’re starting a new business or reinventing your life after 50, Colin stressed the importance of uncovering and overcoming the inner stories that keep you stuck. He believes the greatest breakthroughs come from working on the inside out.
Whether you’re trying to grow a business, find your purpose, or simply communicate more effectively, you’ll walk away from this interview feeling encouraged and empowered.
Colin’s passion for helping people succeed in sales is about so much more than closing deals, it’s about helping individuals realize their full potential and live the lives they were meant to lead.
After turning 50, Colin found a deeper sense of purpose by creating the “Sales Coaching Gym.” It is a program that combines group sessions, one-on-one coaching and hands-on role play to help entrepreneurs and coaches build confidence, master communication and grow their businesses.
He approaches sales as a learnable skill, much like going to the gym. Sales is a skill that requires regular practice, feedback and intentional development.
But what truly sets Colin apart is his heart. He understands that many people come to him not just looking for tactics or strategies, but for clarity, belief in themselves and a reminder that they are enough.
Through his coaching, he helps clients identify and work through limiting beliefs that may be sabotaging their efforts without them even realizing it.
Colin’s message is particularly powerful for people over 50. He believes this stage of life is a time when we are wiser, more intentional and better equipped to pursue work that aligns with our true selves.
He’s living proof that it’s never too late to reinvent yourself and to help others do the same.

Remember, you don’t have to change everything overnight. Sometimes, it starts with one authentic conversation.
