Today, I have the privilege of speaking with Alicia Michelle, who is a certified mindset coach, author and podcast host who helps Christian women gain emotional clarity and spiritual confidence.
After surviving a near-death medical crisis that stemmed from years of ignoring her own well-being, Alicia embarked on a powerful journey of healing physically, mentally and spiritually.
Now in her 50s, Alicia finds purpose by empowering other women to navigate their own emotional struggles using a combination of neuroscience, biblical truth and practical coaching tools.
Alicia is the author of the book “Emotional Confidence: Three Simple Steps to Manage Emotions with Science and Scripture.” She also serves as host of “The Christian Mindset Coach” podcast.
Her work is centered on helping women – especially mothers – to acknowledge, process and redirect overwhelming emotions in a healthy, God-centered way.
What gives Alicia a deep sense of purpose today is helping women of faith – especially younger mothers – to cope with the overwhelming demands of daily life. She does so by teaching them how to understand and manage their emotions through science and scripture.
As a homeschooling mother of four, Alicia knows firsthand the crushing pressure women face, especially when they’re juggling parenting, marriage, career demands and spiritual expectations.
She described how years of chronic stress, lack of sleep, and neglecting her own emotional needs ultimately led to a medical emergency that nearly took her life. That harrowing experience became a wake-up call, not just for physical recovery, but for emotional and spiritual transformation.
Now, Alicia focuses her life on helping other women avoid the same fate. Through her coaching work, podcast and book, she equips women with practical tools to process their emotions and silence the inner critic that often berates them with shame, guilt and comparison – especially when they feel like they’re falling short in motherhood or other areas of life.
Alicia’s ADD method, which is to acknowledge, discern and decide, is a simple framework she developed to help women walk through emotions in real-time.
Rather than stuffing feelings down or overreacting, she teaches them to pause, examine the emotion, seek God’s truth, and then make intentional, grace-filled choices.
Alicia also speaks candidly about issues like “mom guilt,” imposter syndrome, and the overwhelming noise of social media, which she says can amplify emotional distress.
She encourages women to set healthy boundaries and intentionally seek peace, even if it means taking extended breaks from technology to reconnect with God and themselves.
In midlife, Alicia sees a tremendous opportunity for women to rediscover their gifts and passions, and to finally pursue dreams that may have been put on hold while raising children.
Whether they’re navigating empty nest syndrome or caring for aging parents, she believes women in this season of life have both the wisdom and capacity to process deep emotional issues that may have been buried for years.
Her message for women is clear: God is not finished with you yet. No matter your age, you still have a purpose. And by partnering with God to work through your emotions, you can experience healing, clarity and renewed passion for what comes next.
You can connect with Alicia and learn more about her resources at www.aliciamichelle.com, follow her on Instagram or Facebook, or tune in to “The Christian Mindset Coach” podcast. Her book, “Emotional Confidence,” is available on Amazon and in other bookstores.
Whether you’re in your 30s struggling with young kids or in your 60s facing a new phase of life, Alicia’s story and practical wisdom offer a hopeful path forward – one grounded in faith, compassion and emotional resilience.
