“You don’t have to wake up one day and suddenly be a new person,” she said. “Just start with one small change. Then, that energy begins to build and align everything else.”

Tami Anne Strochak reclaimed her life holistically after turning 50

By the time Tami Anne Strochak reached her early 50s, her body and spirit were showing signs of long-unhealed trauma. Years of emotional pain, eating disorders and the physical toll of stress had finally caught up with her.

“My hair was falling out. I had bald patches, gray streaks and was so embarrassed I had to wear hats or clip-in pieces that only made things worse,” she said. “I was breaking down, and I didn’t know what to do.”

But a moment of deep vulnerability changed everything. While in the depths of despair, her son prayed for her. That heartfelt act of compassion began a shift in Tami’s thinking and, ultimately, led to a journey of healing.

Today, Tami is the founder of the Ageless Soul Tribe, a coaching and support community designed to help women over 50 to recover from emotional and physical trauma as well as to live with renewed strength, beauty and self-acceptance.

A lifetime of struggle

Tami’s early life was marked by trauma, much of it unspoken and unresolved. Like many women of her generation, she didn’t have access to the emotional tools or societal support that are more available today.

“I had an eating disorder for years, and like many people with that issue, I also drank,” she explained. “I stopped the behaviors later in life, but I had no idea how much damage had already been done.”

Stopping the outward behaviors didn’t mean the healing had begun. Tami still carried emotional wounds, and those internal struggles manifested physically through stress, exhaustion and chronic self-criticism.

She recalled moments of complete humiliation, such as being mistaken for her father’s wife while caring for him during a medical crisis.

“I was wearing a wig and I looked nothing like myself,” she said. “But once I truly started to heal, I realized how much of that pain had been stored in my body. Forgiveness was the key that unlocked everything.”

The power of forgiveness

For Tami, forgiveness was not just a feel-good concept. It became a life-altering force.

“When I learned to forgive, I felt years literally come off my face,” she explained. “You wouldn’t have recognized me five years ago. I carried so much pain in my body and in my energy.”

She came to believe that forgiveness wasn’t about excusing what had happened to her, but rather freeing herself from the prison of resentment and self-blame.

“Forgiveness was the beginning of everything,” Tami explained. “I realized God doesn’t want us to suffer. Once I got that message, I decided to take that energy, run it through my body and use it to heal others.”

That realization led her down a path of energetic healing, self-education and spiritual exploration.

Rediscovering energy and alignment

Tami began studying neuroscience coaching and Reiki by diving into the science behind energy, the brain and how trauma gets stored in the body. She became fascinated by how thought patterns can shape physical health and how people can realign their energy fields to heal themselves.

“I actually felt the electricity inside of me once I started doing this work,” she said. “It doesn’t happen overnight, but when you move your body through running, walking, swimming, etc., you can begin to activate this energy and feel it shifting.”

Rather than following rigid protocols, Tami focused on doing what felt natural to her. For instance, she used movement as meditation and tuned in to her body’s cues rather than adhering to strict routines.

“You don’t have to sit cross-legged in a silent room to meditate,” she noted. “Your meditation might come during a run or while swimming. You find what works for you.”

She also embraced Ayurveda, the ancient Indian practice of balancing the body’s natural energies through diet, herbs and lifestyle.

Learning from experience

Tami’s knowledge isn’t just theoretical. It’s rooted in lived experience. She has experimented with various healing diets, lifestyle changes and energetic practices over the years. She did so not to be trendy, but to survive.

She recalled spending hundreds of dollars on Ayurvedic herbs while trying to stop drinking. She battled sleepless nights and multiple abscesses in her mouth without access to proper dental care.

“There were times I was toughing it out with goldenseal and vitamin C just to get through the pain,” she said. “But I learned what worked. And now I want to pass that on.”

Creating the Ageless Soul Tribe

Out of her own healing journey came a passion to help other women who were suffering in silence. That vision birthed the Ageless Soul Tribe, a space where women over 50 can come together for support, coaching and empowerment.

“I never want another woman in her 50s to go through what I experienced,” Tami said. “That’s why I created Ageless Soul Tribe. It came from a deep place of servitude.”

The tribe offers coaching that combines neuroscience, energy work and Ayurvedic principles. Tami is currently developing a 12-week course that helps women align their energy, clear emotional blockages and embrace wellness with purpose.

Each member begins by identifying their Ayurvedic “dosha,” or energy type, which determine recommended foods, herbs and habits to restore balance. Tami offers practical guidance rooted in her former experience as a chef by creating simple recipes that match each woman’s needs.

The program also includes light movement, breathwork, chakra clearing and opportunities for spiritual reflection.

“It sounds complicated, but it’s really not,” Tami explained. “Once you understand your dosha and your imbalances, we work with your diet and your lifestyle. That’s where the transformation starts.”

Embracing age with strength and dignity

One of Tami’s greatest passions is redefining what it means to grow older, especially for women.

“We are powerhouses of wisdom, strength and resilience,” she said. “But society doesn’t always reflect that. I want younger women to look up to us and say, ‘I want to age like that.’”

She’s even developing a custom Ageless Woman tarot deck, designed to reflect the inner warrior and spiritual depth of midlife women.

“It’s about showing that aging doesn’t mean decline. It’s about becoming,” she explained. “We need to shift the narrative and embrace all that we’ve become.”

Helping others find their spark

Through all her work, Tami’s message is clear. Healing is possible at any age, and it doesn’t require a radical life overhaul.

“You don’t have to wake up one day and suddenly be a new person,” she explained. “Just start with one small change, such as a shift in your routine or one moment of joy. Then, that energy begins to build and align everything else.”

For Tami, this alignment has led to meaningful opportunities to speak, teach and connect with others. She recently appeared in a “rebirth summit” and hopes to someday create a dental clinic where volunteer dentists provide restorative care for people recovering from eating disorders.

“I went through a lot of pain,” she said. “If I can help others avoid that, it makes everything I went through worth it.”

A message of hope

For people over 50 who are searching for more meaning and purpose, Tami offers this advice:

“Follow what you love, even if it seems small or silly. It could be a hobby, a class or just a lifestyle change,” she explained. “You’re never too old to pivot, and you’re never too broken to heal. Keep learning, keep moving and stay open to the possibilities.”
